I’m a doctoral student in the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology program at Michigan State University. I go by Emma, Hà, Thanh Hà, and Lim. Each name has some significance to me.

I come from Hà Nội, the capital of Việt Nam. It’s a complex city, full of energy and contrasts. When I am asked what I love most about it, my reply is often: “Food, flowers, and coffee shops.”

Prior to coming to the United States, I worked for three years at University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. I have fond memories of the place and time.

I’m interested in visual literacy, creativity, and multimodality in the context of technological development, globalization and cultural diversity.

I travel. I take photos. I cook. I’m a dreamer.

This site was set up when I started my doctoral program mainly as an attempt to find pleasure in writing and sharing and to connect with people. It displays relevant work from my study and research as well as my personal, random thoughts and activities.

Check out my CV, blog, and photos.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you find something useful. Feel free to leave a message. I’d love to hear from you.
